oh man I haven't done anything to this blog in like a year? anyway, my mum sort of forced me into a high protein diet and because most of my food consisted of carbs before today I had to find new recipes. AND NOW I'M BACK! Things I do and/or appreciate right now: strength training, swimming, zumba, yoga, good food and healthy thoughts.

the diet is going OK
I have lost a bit over 4 kg in a week
and I stood on this body analyzer scale and it told me that my body fat % had gone down almost 5% since last month.

Despite this I’m not so happy? I’m already mentally preparing myself for yoyoing like crazy when I stop and then it’ll all be for nothing. Losing 5 kg in a week is NOT healthy. Also I’m only eating like 800 kcal a day… and it’s pretty triggering for me because I’m afraid I’ll fall back to my disordered eating because of the diet

I’m probably in ketosis now but I’m not sure?? I don’t get as hungry as last week and I don’t have a headache anymore so I guess that’s good

The only thing I’m happy with is that because of this diet it’s getting easier to control my cravings. I do crave carbs, but it’s mostly in the form of bread or tortilla wraps or potatoes that I want to eat. Not the cookies and chips/crisps and whatnot. So hopefully after the diet I won’t have these cravings anymore

weird thing in this diet though: I am not supposed to eat fruit except a little in the weekends for the duration of the diet (after I reach a healthy weight with the shakes I stop taking the shakes and maintain my weight by eating the same as during the diet but now with some natural and/or complex carbs added)

where am I supposed to get my fiber and vitamins in the meantime though??

so yeah starting the protein shakes tomorrow, twice a day then 2 snacks and regular dinner minus carb foods. I already baked some egg muffins with ham, bell peppers and mushrooms and they are SO GOOD so I’m all set for snacks for at least this week :-)

hi guys I’m finally back!
I haven’t stopped trying to be healthy but I wasn’t doing enough to want to do things with this blog..

but my mum wanted to do a high protein diet with me (she paid) and I agreed as it’s one of the better diets she’s tried. she’s done a lot of, from my pov, unhealthy things when it comes to losing weight (only eating shakes or only eating eggs for a week or the cambridge diet, only eating the bare minimum your body needs (for her somewhere around 1200)

she often tried to get me to diet with her, especially with the only eating your BMR in calories but I was like noooo thank you I have recently learned that eating 1200 cals a day is not good for me as I’ve been doing that for years and look at how I weigh almost a 100 kg now

but high protein/low carb diets seem like a good new strategy. I’m not starving myself which is a good thing but the diet is pretty restrictive. I think I’ll make it through ‘cause I’m still allowed to eat some solid foods and I can have some bread in the weekends. I feel like I am sort of addicted to carbs?? which is a thing that happens I read. Every time I tried to be healthy I could never give up two things: bread and crisps. but that will change for at least the next month! and I’m pretty scared I won’t be able to do it :(

DID YOU KNOW:

Walking uphill/on an incline burns just as much calories as running.

I can’t do any high impact sports with my feet because I’ll get shin splints and other injuries and fitblr is so obsessed with running that it makes me feel pretty bad at times. And while calories isn’t everything, this is a really nice thing. I can just walk on incline on a treadmill and don’t feel bad about not being able to run. :)

It’s been a year since I started measuring. It’s been an alright year. I think I look like I lost more than these numbers say, because my posture improved a lot, too. I’m looking into ‘diets’ more. Instead of gradually letting go of the junkfood I love so much, completely changing up EVERYTHING I eat might work better.
